Here is the Summer and Fall Out There HikingSchedule

Saturday, August 15 – South Whiteshell Trail

This is a brand new trail that meanders through the boreal forest along the south shore of Falcon Lake, to High Lake (near the Ontario border).  About 10 km.  Moderately difficult.

Saturday, September 12:  Tunnel Island Trail

Not a new trail, but new to Out There.  This moderately difficult walk winds through the boreal forest near Kenora and along the shores of the Lake of the Woods.  About 8 km.

Saturday, October 10 – We are offering a choice between two longer trails — both perfect for a cooler fall day, and both in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

1.  Centennial Trail.

This favourite Out There trail is a 12 km hike through the boreal forest and over many granite outcrops in the central Whiteshell.  This is one of our most challenging trails.

2.  Mantario Trail:  (West Hawk Lake trailhead to Cariboo Lake) — a 15 km walk along the south end of this iconic Manitoba hiking trail through the thick boreal forest of the east Whiteshell.

We will send out more details to  those who have signed on to the Out There Hiking list a few weeks before each hike.

If you are not yet on our Out There Hiking list, go towww.outtherewinnipeg.com  and click on the hiking boot.

All hikes are day trips.  We will leave Winnipeg around 9 am and return in the late evening.
