Pride (the movie), directed By Matthew Warchus
UK, 2014, 119 Min.

LGBTTQ* activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. The film recounts the forging of an historic link between the Labour movement and workers rights, and the dawning of the movement for LGBTTQ* rights. It also captures the beginning of LGBTTQ* activism that would be critical to the response to the then emerging A.I.D.S. crisis. While the film is a fictional drama, all of the main characters are based on historical figures of the events depicted.
