OutThere XC Skiing

Online Registration is Now Open!

This is a cross-posting from OutThere Sports, which is open to all members of the LGBTTQ community

Snow is on the way! Out There XC Ski Club was founded in 2014 to provide a great way to explore Manitoba and NW Ontario, to get fit and to help people connect. If you enjoy being in nature and don’t want to be stuck indoors all winter, give skiing a go. We traverse many trails of different skill levels, so everyone can enjoy the sport. We also encourage those that have never skied before to give it a try. We promise it’ll make winter feel like it’s flown by.

On Tuesday nights, we go to the Windsor Park Nordic Centre or Birds Hill Park, for a relaxed night of skiing. For those unsure if they are up for the cold, there are warming huts along the Birds Hill Park trails where we can stop for a rest. For those without equipment, rentals are available.

Every Saturday we venture outside the city to challenging trails that test our abilities. From the grand valleys of the Pembina Escarpment to the tall pine forests of the Whiteshell, you’ll see the most magnificent snow-laden scenes anywhere. These are are day trips, leaving from a central location the carpool departs by 10am and often we return after 6pm.

Register today for our 2015-16 season!
